BWJFC Club History

Formed in 1973 as Whitehill Rovers, the Club has grown from strength to strength. Playing all its games on local playing fields and schools.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The 1986/87 season saw one of its teams becoming National Youth Cup champions and in 1999 some of our current Seniors Squad were featured on Sky Sports after qualifying for the finals of the Snickers Midnite League at Bisham Abbey.

Due to growing numbers the Club began to run two teams at some age levels, in both the GT Sports Sunday League and the Rotherham Centenary League. However, with the growing demise of the Rotherham League the Club entered all its teams in the Sheffield & District Junior League, but had to call its second string by another name. Due to local ties with Aurora Sports Club, the Club became known as Whitehill Aurora JFC, with some duplicate age group teams taking up the name “Aurora”.

With the dawning of the new millennium, the Club at last secured a base with the leasing of facilities at the Outokumpu Sports Club (formerly the Avesta Sports Club), Brinsworth, and once again went through a name change, now to be known as Brinsworth Whitehill JFC, with the Whitehill teams becoming Brinsworth Whitehill and Aurora teams Brinsworth Juniors.

The club used the facilities at Outokumpu Sports Club until the summer of 2010 when the opportunity to move to The Phoenix Sports & Social Club arose and a decision was taken to use this as our new home base.
At the same time The Sheffield and District Sunday League also changed their ruling on names of clubs with more than one team entered in the league so again some of our teams were renamed from Brinsworth Whitehill to Brinsworth Whitehill A and from Brinsworth Juniors to Brinsworth Whitehill B[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”224″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][vc_column_text]Club representatives receiving the F.A.
