Club History

Formed in 1973 as Whitehill Rovers, the Club has grown from strength to strength. Playing all its games on local playing fields and at schools, the Club lacked a base and often held meetings in the Secretary’s garage.

The 1986/87 season saw one of its teams becoming National Youth Cup champions and in 1999 its current Seniors Squad were featured on Sky Sports after qualifying for the finals of the Snickers Midnite League at Bisham Abbey.

Due to growing numbers the Club began to run two teams at some age levels, in both the GT Sports Sunday League and the Rotherham Centenary League. However, with the growing demise of the Rotherham League the Club entered all its teams in the Sheffield & District Junior League, but had to call its second string by another name. Due to local ties with Aurora Sports Club, the Club became known as Whitehill Aurora JFC, with some duplicate age group teams taking up the name “Aurora”.

With the dawning of the new millennium, the Club at last secured a base with the leasing of facilities here at Outokumpu Sports Club (formerly the Avesta Sports Club), Brinsworth, and once again went through a name change, now to be known as Brinsworth Whitehill JFC, with the Whitehill teams becoming Brinsworth Whitehilland Aurora teams Brinsworth Juniors.

The following season of 2004/05 due to increasing popularity and demand the club starting running girls football teams for the first time.

In 2005/6 the club was awarded the FA Charter Standard Community Club status and due to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved we were awarded Community Club of the year. Our director of football was also awarded East area Coach of the year in the National awards.

The setting up of our commercial and social committees has seen the club lift its profile and indeed in November 2006 we were pleased to announce probably the largest sponsorship deal in junior football with one of the areas major house building companies .

Each year the Club holds one of the largest Galas/Football Tournaments in the area.
